Family Culture and Diversity

This week topic in our family relation class which talk about family culture and diversity, when we talk about family culture and diversity, they are customs, norms and tradition of a family society. I came from a community whereby each family in that community follow and practice a tradition in that community and this tradition is about a child will inherit his uncle property not their own father’s property. And this was a true story which happen so many years ago about a certain king in that community, this king marries two wives and the first wife have eight children while the second wife had twelve children. These women live with their children together with this king, everything was going well with all of them, and the king also have a lot of inheritance he owns many properties that in a extend that when he dies all his children are all going to inherit his properties without leaving no one behind. However, his children were also happy and boastful about their father inheritance.  Furthermore, one day the king became sick they try to find a remedy to his illness, but nothing works out for him the sickness became serious and he was in a critical condition to die, and in that community, they have a fetish priest that they consult in case of any serious situation. Now because the king sickness is getting out of control they went and consult the fetish priest about it, and when the fetish priest came to see the king, spiritually he have seen that unless they made a human sacrifice before the king will survived so therefore he call all the two wife together with all their children and make this announcement to them that each of them will bring their male child to sacrifice to the gods that is the only way their husband will live again. When they heard about this news the two of them begin to murmur and they start planning on what to do, because neither the first woman nor the second is willing to offer their child to make the sacrifice for the king to live. So therefore, when everybody return to their homes, this king was left with his family. At midnight, the two wives of the king and their children all departed from the king leaving him alone and they all travel to unknown place where nobody can locate them. Two days later, the king sister who  also leaves with her husband and children in a nearby community came to the king palace to see how her brother is doing but when she arrived in the compound she realize there was no body at home she went inside her brother room and saw the king lying down in pains, the woman run to the fetish priest to inform him about the current situation of the king but the fetish say the same thing to this woman  that unless they sacrifice two male child for the king before he may survived. This news sound unfortunate for this woman but notwithstanding she quickly run to her husband and discuss this with her husband, so they all agree to offer their two sons for the king to live. This woman returns with her children to the fetish priest to make the sacrifice to the gods and as soon as the sacrifice was done the king was relief from his sickness and became strong again. Now, when these two wives and their children head that the king is strong and alive, they all return to the palace to apologies to the king, but he did not respond to any of their apologies and one week later, he call all the entire community together for celebration for coming back to live to live again. This king announces to the people about how his two wives and their children abounding him and left him in pains but it was his sister who use her two sons to save him to live again and now his family are asking for his forgiveness and he will for give them of all they have done to him but all his properties that he has achieve in life none of his children will inherit any of his property but his sister children will inherit all his properties so therefore the have enacted this as law, custom, culture and tradition for every member in that community to be practiced and since that time till today this was practice as a family culture in every

    Waouh, every decision in every culture is based on true and spécial situation. Good family is the one that Care for you in need, that's why Jesus Christ said that my family is the one that listen to my word and live by it
